Munich Cafe’s

Written By: Tonya - Aug• 29•11
To add to my ongoing list of favorite cafe’s is Cafe Altschwabing in Munich. Located in the heart of Schwabing on Schellingstrasse 56, this establishment has been in the city for over 100 years. I was recently introduced to this great spot by a friend of mine and it was easily a favorite. With it’s beautiful tall ceilings, elegant but cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and great prices…this is somewhere I will come back to again and again.
Whether you are wanting breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this is a perfect spot. The food is great and the prices are really really fair. I usually stop here for lunch and grab a salad, all of which are large and tasty and cost around 6 Euros. (You can’t beat that!)  The hummus is also excellent and worth trying! They have a plentiful breakfast menu and the dinner items consist of a lot of Turkish items, all of which I’m sure are delicious.
Like many other restaurants in Munich, this one gets pretty busy on weekend nights and Sundays for breakfast, and even though it’s a little bigger than some other places, it still gets filled up.  So be sure to reserve a table if you want to guarantee a spot!

Beautiful looking spot, reminds me of Cafe Tortoni in Buenos Aires.
