Munich Restaurants: Sushibar Schwabing

Written By: Tonya - Jul• 27•11

Munich has a lot of amazing food. You can find almost everything from every corner in the world, but the sushi selection in my opinion is not that wonderful. I have been on the hunt in this city to find a sushi bar that has great food along with a nice atmosphere, and while I found a couple that were “ok”…I never was really satified. Until now.

A Day in Lisbon, Portugal

I never really thought much about Portugal to be honest, but after our recent stop over in Lisbon, I definitely want to return. The city is full of life and character and is quite beautiful. We unfortunately only had one day to check it out, but it was enough to know I loved it! Written By: Tonya - Jul• 13•11

A lot of people (myself included) have never even heard of the Azores. Which was somewhat shocking for me being that they are located right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and I fly over them every time I head back to Florida. (Well almost at least)  So when my family approached me with the idea of meeting on the island of Sao Miguel this year, I quickly googled the location and was shocked at the stunning images I saw of a place I had never heard of. I couldn’t wait!

Olympia Flea Market in Munich

Written By: Tonya - Jun• 26•11

I love flea markets. You just never know what you might find there. Every week in Munich there is a great flea market in the Olympia Park Stadium parking lot, open on Friday and Saturday 7am – 4pm, rain or shine (and in Munich’s case, sometimes snow). These people are hardcore, I’ve seen the booths set up on even the crappiest of weather… In fact the only time when this market is closed is when the Olympic Stadium is having an event.

Day Trip from Munich- Garmisch Partenkirchen

Written By: Tonya - Jun• 25•11

Just about an hour from Munich you can visit Garmisch Partenkirchen, a picturesque mountain town in the Bavarian Alps. While this is a fun place to visit in the winter for all the skiers and snowboarders, it makes for a great little day trip in the Summer as well. You can easily take your bikes on the train and purchase a Bayern Ticket and for almost nothing, head to the mountains.

Written By: Tonya - Jun• 23•11

The last two weeks of September are an oh so happy time for me. It’s time for the world’s largest bier drinking festival, Oktoberfest. For the last 5 years I have gone here and among my beers, fuzzy memories, and newly made friends, I have also figured out a thing or two about the best way to visit this party of 300,000 people per day. And while the Oktoberfest in Munich doesn’t start for 3 more months, I thought it wise to prepare you early…
